We met with Donna over at Four O'Three this afternoon to talk about the cake. Since we booked by a certain date, the cake is included, however, the free cake would only be in pound cake. Now while I love some pound cake, it just doesn't seem like a wedding cake to either of us, so we decided to upgrade our cake to have some flavors that we will actually want.
We decided to get a four tiered cake with the bottom being a square, then the one above it being round, then square and the one on top round again. The bottom one, since it will be this large, will still be a pound cake, but it will have strawberry filling. The bigger of the two rounds will have chocolate cake with chocolate filling. The smaller square will be chocolate with raspberry filling, and the topmost cake, the anniversary cake, will have to be pound cake again, otherwise it would be a brick on our first anniversary.
We also decided what we want the cake to look like. If it's anything like the vision that I have in my head, it will be gorgeous....and yummy. lol
